home-sweet-home

With the price of nice greeting cards these days, wouldn’t it be even nicer to spend those same dollars on a more lasting and appreciated Mother’s Day Cookbook ‘Card’ that you can make with cookbook software?  Mother’s Day is just a few weeks away, but you still have time to make a homemade Cookbook Card for Mom.

Because your creative thoughtfulness is really what counts, your homemade Mother’s Day Cookbook Card doesn’t have to be elaborate:

LIMIT THE PAGES
Pick out 4 or 5 of your favorite recipes that Mom used to make and type them in the recipe tab of the cookbook software.* You want to create a cookbooklet of sorts, so restrict the number of recipes you include (remember you will also have a front and back cover).

PHOTOS
Hunt down a few old photos of your Mom and have them copied digitally, or scan them yourself to upload into the cookbook software. If you have any family group photos, use them, or search online for hometown photos that capture the era of the recipe. If you live nearby your Mom, take a few digital photos of flowers your Mother loves, or items she favors, maybe even the house you grew up in. Anything to personalize the pages will be lovely.

LOVING COMMENTS
Add some loving comments as to why you liked (or disliked) these specific recipes. Humor is always appreciated. Remember this Mother’s Day Cookbook Card is a memento, and not a masterpiece. (You can continue adding recipes later to really finish the job.)

Making this Mother’s Day Cookbook Card shouldn’t take more than a few hours to complete. Just think how happy your Mom will be when she opens this very special Mother’s Day Card and finds a personalized cookbook!

Wait for her astonished smile. That alone is worth a thousand words.

*The cookbook software we recommend is Matilda’s Fantastic Cookbook Software, which is so easy to use (we like to say “if you can send email, you can use Matilda’s Fantastic Cookbook Software”).
